Essex County borders the Northern Neck and is a convenient, waterfront location to enjoy! Founded in 1692, with approximately 317 miles of shoreline along the Rappahannock River and its tributaries. The towns include: Tappahannock, Dunnsville, Centercross and Millers Tavern.

Essex County is known for “Rappahannock River Living” and has many convenient locations for home goods, building supplies and great “River” Accessories. VCU hospital Is located in Tappahannock along with many other medical facilities. Tappahannock is just a short run to either Mechanicsville, Richmond or Fredericksburg.

The town of Tappahannock has many great events throughout the year including Farmer’s Markets, Live Music, 4th of July Festivities and Oyster Roasts.
